** The following message is for all clients of SKJ & Company, P.S **
Dear Clients of SKJ & Company, P.S.:
Beginning 1/1/2025, the platform for our payroll service will be transferred to Automated Data Processing (ADP). This transition will not impose any changes to our payroll services nor our fees. We are writing to share information with our clients on useful features that the ADP platform provides and ask for clients’ cooperation on this transition.
Differences between ADP and the existing payroll service
- Submitting Payroll Hours
Our clients have been submitting payroll hours by phone or email for processing and our office sent the paystubs to clients by email or postal mail. This procedure will still remain; but our clients will have option to enter the employee hours through ADP employer portal. Paystubs, once it is produced, will also be available for download on the same portal account.
- ADP Handling Payroll Tax Payments
In general, employers in WA State are subject to 2 types of federal payroll taxes including Form 941 and Form 940, and 4 State payroll taxes including WA Unemployment Insurance, Worker’s Compensation, Paid Family & Medical Leave and WA Long-Term Care Insurance. So far, we have been making federal payroll tax deposits depending on size of each client’s payroll and pay the state taxes on quarterly basis when the quarterly reports are filed. Starting 2025, ADP will be withholding ALL payroll taxes incurred for the pay period and pay them to each taxing agencies on your behalf. Overall, there will be changes to clients’ tax payment schedule but will not impact the overall tax amount.
Additional Features with ADP
- Employer Portal
With ADP, employers can now access all payroll data including all paystubs, tax filing & payment record and employee information through ADP’s employer portal account.
- Employee Access
Each employee will have access to their own account to view and edit their pay records including paystubs, W-2s, and W-4 information.
- Full-Service Direct Deposit (FSDD)
Instead of writing checks, employers can now deposit paychecks directly to employees’ bank account at no additional costs.
- ADP Check Service
For those employees who do not wish to participate in FSDD, ADP can produce paychecks and mail to the employer. This eliminates the need for employers to write checks, and will also prevent business bank information from being exposed to employees. This service may incur additional fees for shipping.
Employee information for FSDD & Employee Access
If you wish to utilize Full-Service Direct Deposit and Employee Access features of ADP, please have your employees to fill out the “ADP New Employee Form” and send back to us. Please make sure your employees complete all fields of the form.
Should you have any questions regarding this transition, please let us know. Thank you.
Respectfully yours,
SKJ & Company, P.S.
